محسنیان که در نیم‌فصل نخست لیگ دسته اول با چالش‌هایی همچون خروج هفت بازیکن کلیدی روبه‌رو شده بود، بارها درخواست جدایی خود را مطرح کرد، اما هر بار با مخالفت مدیریت باشگاه مواجه شد و سرانجام، او تصمیم گرفت به همکاری خود با این تیم پایان دهد.

شنیده‌ها حاکی از آن است که سعید شربت‌خوار، مربی بومی استان گلستان، گزینه اصلی هدایت مدافع حرم علی‌آباد محسوب می‌شود. گفته می‌شود که وی روز گذشته در تمرینات تیم حضور داشته و احتمالاً به‌زودی به‌عنوان سرمربی جدید معرفی خواهد شد.
